ROCKFALL ALERT:

rOADSIDE

12 November 2018

Climbers please be aware a large chunk of rock has fallen from the overhangs left of the popular 19, Autumnal.

This area has had rockfalls in the past most notably after a prolonged wet winter and spring ... such as now.

As a result we are recommending climbers stay clear of the climbs on the right hand side of Roadside until the ground drys out and we have an opportunity to assess the remaining rockfall hazard.

The area affected includes popular routes such as Shortcut to Exposure, Up your Scud and Everything but the Formalities amongst others.

Fortunately the area from Aretenaphobia to Judges Wine is not affected and there are lots and lots of other crags to enjoy.

Please pass this message around.

Thanks and safe climbing!

Working Bee:

Little Big Wall Track

Saturday 5 May &  12 May 2018

The track approaching Little Big Wall from the Eastern Crags car park in Hospital Flat was maintained by removing bracken that was enclosing the trail. The track was also rerouted to approach the crag from the front, avoiding the approach underneath the rockfall area.

A crew comprised of Jess, Jane, Allison, Ben, Felix, Dayton, and working bee organizer Llew tackled the task over two weekends. Thanks team!

Bolt Maintenance:

Iron Curtain

5 May 2018

A loose bolt caused some concern at the top wall of the Mt Iron crag and it was replaced and dealt with by Julian and Allen.
